I just found out that this photo made it to an exhibit in LONDON under createhive.org!!! #HUMBLEBRAG (Taken with instagram)

When I googled myself, I was on this list of names under createhive exhibitors. I have totally forgotten about the entries I have submitted on their website. I was just sharing pictures trying to see if I could make it on the webpage and get comments so that I could improve my photography and sure enough I was overwhelmed when they posted a couple of my pictures cos once posted it means that it will be considered for the exhibit meaning it will still have to compete with all the pictures posted on the site.

Some of the pictures that I have submitted never made it on their webpage so I totally forgot about the whole createhive thing cos the entries I’ve been seeing there were just so amazing that I never really thought I could make it to the exhibit.

I was so psyched when I saw my name next to Gary Cohen who is an amazing street photographer http://streetographer.com/ and next to some photographers who have already landed an Adventure in Hipstaland. You cannot imagine my glee when I saw the very picture that I took from our room, our dirty denims. On the wall. In a gallery. In London!

This is such an inspiration! I can be as good as these people. I may have not won, but a shot in making it to an exhibit totally flipped me out.

Obviously I am so bored today. At this time last year I was busy looking and booking our hotels, flights, itineraries and all that travel plans. But this year… we are not planning anything. No plans whatsoever for the summer. Every last dime we have went to the house. So I guess we’ll be spending our vacation at the house.

To get the glum off my face and put a smile on my frown. I am searching some cool stuff for Lucas’ room. I am actually more interested in designing his room than ours. As a kid I have always dreamt of getting to decorate my own bedroom but that never really happened. So now I am trying to relive that dream by designing my son’s bedroom and I wanted it to be really cool, with a vintage 90s feel to it and of course a place where he can be more creative. I don’t really care if Lucas will grow up to be a math wizard or whatever. I just want him to be smart and imaginative so he can CREATE things, cos really that’s where the money is. I want to give him a room that will tap his creativity. A room that will make him think outside the box.

Just for the record, I’m no expert. I’ve only been a mother for the first time but this is something that I wouldve wanted as a child. If only I was surrounded with visuals that fueled my imagination, I probably would have become more creative now.

Found this on flickr and thought this could make a really cool poster. I was thinking of trying to get my hands dirty with acrylic and recreate the rocketship. I’m not really sure if I could do the moon, the planets and the colors cos you see I’m no painter. But man, the colors in this poster are just perfect! I’ll probably just have this framed and printed on an 8x12 photopaper.

This is from an art exhibit that I took off my cousin’s facebook page. I like everything on this painting especially the small radioflyer. Too bad my cousin forgot the name of the artist and even if I get a hold of him I probably cannot afford this anyway.

So I decided to commission my sister to do some paintings and just gave her an overview of what I wanted to happen.

Ok. So, this week has been very stressfull with all the spending, to looking for a new househelp (I change nannys more frequently than the Vatican change their guards), preparing for a 3K run, eating more calories than I should and totally ruined two weeks worth of bland eating into nothing, and in choosing things for the house.

Having too many options (or the lack of it) is pretty confusing and overwhelming. Like the garden hose for example. How could someone spend almost an hour looking for the perfect hose that at a glance only varies in color? Well, there is more to it than just the color. There’s the length, the nozzles, the material, the price, and of course the color and the design that’s been taking up most of the choosing part.

Being fickle is also a big disadvantage! Most of the time I already have stuff in my basket and decided to come back for it later hoping to find something better and ended up not getting any cos they’re either sold out or out of stock when I get back. This happened to me alot of times already, and I don’t even wanna talk about the curtains cos it gets so frustrating.

Anyway, I just started buying plants for my little front lawn and I love looking at the landscaped small corners in some of the Shell gas stations, it makes me want to design and see how my little garden will grow. I am actually more excited about buying plants than curtains. That is why I spent more time on the garden hose.

And what’s up with the potato heads? My son makes the funniest potato faces and he called the last one Kisha who looks exactly like his nanny (the going out nanny) and I’m having too much fun making fun with it. Just so I could make fun of the whole finding a new nanny situation.

So there.
